A refurbishment and extension of a small 2 bedroomed 1960s detached house. The existing building is sited immediately against the boundary of Morningside Cemetery which restricted new building work to the south and west. The work reconfigures the internal arangement of the house adding an extra bedroom and larger kitchen whilst the extension forms a larger south facing living space with bi-fold doors that open to the garden. The entrance to the site and zoning of the garden is improved to more clearly separate the entrance route from private external spaces. The timber framed structure is clad with untreated Scottish larch.
