the winning competition entry for a new cultural complex in guilin, china, the building contains an opera house, theatre, concert hall, library, art gallery and town hall.
public foyers are reached via an artificial rolling landscape reminiscent of the surrounding topography. the major volumes of the public buildings pierce through the landscape, enclosed by a glass canopy.beneath the landscape are back of house areas, services, storage and parking
