this was an invited competition to develop a strategy for future office development along the Firth of forth in leith, with an emphasis on sustainability. sha developed a concept based on the use of eurban technology (solid timber panels) with the polemic that the choice of technology can have a direct influence on the overall formal expression. the solid timber panels are prefabricated and bolted together on site providing a solid form of construction with all the advantages of concrete but with the added advantages of being a sustainable material and benefiting from the speed and precision of prefabrication.
